Apple's NewtonOS from a Developer Perspective

Overview

Apple developed the Newton, the precursor to all modern PDAs, in the early 90's. It was far ahead of its time, and it failed badly due to circumstances that are widely discussed and documented. I am fascinated by the Newton system, so here are some pages written 25 years after initial development, that will try to recreate the experince.

• Newton_Script.html NewtonScript deals with the proprietary language of the Newton ecosysytem, and how to develop new apps in 2020
• Newton_OS.html NewtonOS is currently a wild collection of ideas on how to get NewtonOS running on modern machines; development has continues since, and I should rewrite those chapters to reflect where I stand on NewtonOS in the 2k20's.
